FAQs

1. When should I start?
We would like to meet with you while you are just thinking of building - that way we can help you find a lot to build on and get your plans done. The sooner we meet with you the easier it is to keep your home and your budget on track. If you already have land and plans, you are ahead of the game and should call us immediately so you don't get off track.

2. What do I need to get started?
You only need an idea of what you're thinking of building. We'll meet with you at length to help you get a firm picture of what your building needs are and what you need to do to get started.

3. How much does it cost to get started?
Your initial Getting Started Meeting is absolutely free. We can give you an idea of what your project will cost, how long it will take to build, and what the next steps will be to start your project.

4. What are my upfront cost?
This depends on what and where you are building. In the Getting Started Meeting we will go over impact fees for your area and other expenses you will incur before you close on your construction loan.

5. Can you help me get financed?
Yes. We work with several banks that are familiar with our system but you are free to use whichever bank you choose. We will give you all the documentation you need to prequalify and close on your construction loan, including a comprehensive cost report.

6. How much does it cost to build a new home?
The price of a home varies widely. In the Getting Started Meeting we will meet with you at length to give you a firm idea of what your home will cost.

7. What if I want a house that seems too large for my budget?
Many people initially design a home that is out of their budget. They then make huge unnecessary cuts to their house and often end up not building a home because they think they cannot afford what they want. We will work with you in a series of meetings to make small cuts and concessions that will get you as close to the original plan as possible.

8. What if I don't have a lot?
We work with many realtors and developers to help you find land in the area you want to build, and review your lot to ensure that you have a buildable piece of property.

9. What if I don't have a floorplan?
We have thousands of stock plans available, or we can design a custom home for you.

10. What if I don't know how to design my own custom home?
Most of our clients have an idea of what they want, but they aren't sure how to get those ideas on paper. Often they feel overwhelmed by the many choices available and are concerned they will forget something. By working closely with our designers and a construction manager, we can ensure that all your ideas make it into your custom plan.

11. How are you different from other builders?
Monty Anderson Construction Group offers a wide variety of building services. We work with you as a team, and our transparent building process allows you to have access to all your invoices and subcontractors.
